Former TV star Josh Duggar made rare appearance at son's birthday party

The disgraced son of the Duggar family, Josh Duggar, has made a comeback of sorts. Fans had polarizing opinions on his return.

Josh Duggar was seen in a family photo taken by the Duggar family on the occasion of his son Marcus' fifth birthday celebration. Josh's parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, shared the photos on their social media account.

Josh is seen in one of the family photos alongside his wife, Anna Renee Duggar, and his children, 8-year-old Mackynzie, 6-year-old Michael, 2-year-old Meredith, 8-month-old Mason, and the birthday boy, 5-year-old Marcus.

The Duggars captioned the photo wishing their 'sweet grandson' a happy birthday. They expressed wonder over the speed at which he was growing and learning new things.

The proud grandparents said that they loved watching Marcus grow in the knowledge of the Lord.

The photos gained traction on social media and fans flooded the pictures with comments. Most of the comments were written to congratulate Marcus on his fifth birthday and to congratulate the famous Duggar family.

As reported by In Touch Weekly, at the age of 15, Josh had molested 5 underage girls. 4 of the victims were Josh's sisters. It was also revealed in August 2015 that Josh had cheated on his wife, Anna.

TLC had canceled the show 19 Kids and Counting after the scandal broke out. The Duggars had sent Josh to a faith-based rehabilitation center. On his return, he kept a low profile from social media.

Many fans had polarizing views after seeing Josh back in the family photo after his scandalous past. One fan,

, commented that it felt nice to see Anna, Josh, and the entire family together.

Another fan, Justine O'Neal, wasn't pleased to see Josh in the family photo and said that he need not be mentioned. He added that Josh has made horrible choices and it is not Marcus' fault.

One follower, Annette Melendez, criticized TLC and said that a show on Josh and Anna's family would truly be a reality show. She believed that cutting the scandalous part from the show feels fake.
