'The Goldbergs' actor Jackson Odell dies at 20 of unknown causes

Upcoming actor Jackson Odell was most well known for his roles in The Goldbergs, Modern Family and I Have Friends. He passed away at the age of 20.

His body was found in a sober living home in Tarzana, California. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, and authorities are investigating the incident.

Jackson's family released a short statement on Twitter, informing his fans that they have lost their 'beloved son and brother' on Friday, 8th June.

'He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward.'

The family expressed their desire for his fan base 'who knew and loved him' to carry his truth forward as well. They also asked for their privacy to be respected.

Odell started his film career in 2009 when he landed a role in Private Practice. That same year, he also made appearances in I'm In The Band and Babysitters Beware.

He starred in two episodes of Modern Family in the role of Ted Durkas. My Funky Valentine aired in 2010 and Open House of Horrors in 2012.

In 2013, he landed the recurring role of Ari Caldwell in The Goldbergs and appeared in eight episodes. His last screen appearance was as Millennial 6 in the 2016 series, Astrid Clover.

Odell had a private Instagram account, and according to his bio, he was 'lucky to be doing what [he was] doing.' He also shared his musical endeavors on JacksonStrings.

The caption on his public account read: 'A man and his guitar,' and he shared short clips of his music and photos of guitar collection.
