Anthony Bourdain's body reportedly cremated in France
The late chef, presenter, and author Anthony Bourdain was cremated in France recently. On June 8, 2018, the star was found dead in his hotel room in France.
Two days after his suicide, his mother, Gladys Bourdain, told People that they were waiting for his body to be released by the French government.
While waiting for her son’s body, Gladys Bourdain had said, “They won’t be shipping his remains back for a couple of days.” Anthony Bourdain, 61, was found dead in his hotel room in Kayserberg, France, on Friday.
He was on location filming for his CNN series, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. The star was in the country with his friend and fellow chef Eric Ripert.
CNN confirmed Anthony’s death on Friday in a statement honoring his “love of great adventure.” A day after his passing, French officials revealed that there was no evidence of foul play or violence in the author’s death.
On Monday, Gladys paid tribute to her “feisty and very talented” son during an emotional interview with the Today show. She told The New York Times on Friday that Anthony “had been in a dark mood” in the days before his death.
“He didn’t disguise anything or take on any act or persona. He was who he was and it was out there for everyone to see.”

However, she shared that she never “dreamed” he “would do something like this.” Anthony is survived by his 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, his ex-wife, Ottavia Butta, and his girlfriend, Asia Argento, 42.
Argento released a statement after her boyfriend’s death. In it, she called him her rock, love, and protector.
