Duchess Meghan's elegant style is influencing European Royals
Princess Sofia of Sweden stepped out in a stunning gown at the prestigious Polar Music Prize with her family. The Polar Music Prize is known as Sweden's "Nobel Prize of Music" and was founded in 1989 by Stig Anderson, with a donation to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, and honors one contemporary musician and one classical musician every year.
Princess Sofia, 33, wore an elegant emerald-green halter-neck evening dress that echoed the Duchess of Sussex's evening gown at her royal wedding to Prince Harry.
The Princess and the Duchess have a lot in common since both are commoners who married into European Royalty, and both worked in the entertainment industry.
The Princess married Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland in 2015 and is the mother to two children: Prince Alexander, Duke of Södermanland, 2, and Prince Gabriel, Duke of Dalarna, just 9-month-old.
Before her marriage to the Prince, Princess Sofia was a famous model and reality show star, while Duchess Meghan was a successful Hollywood actress.
Princess Sofia's dress was very similar to the Stella McCartney creation Duchess Meghan had worn as her second dress at her evening reception during her wedding to Prince Harry on the 19th of March 2018.
The dresses are remarkably similar in silhouette, with the same silky fabric, with the main difference being the color.
Even Princess Sofia's hair was styled like the Duchess' - pulled back in a chignon with soft waving tendrils loose around her face.
The Princess wore pointed stiletto shoes like the Duchess but made from a glamorous metallic gold material. She completed the look with a matching gold clutch bag and statement earrings.
Stella McCartney has announced that she will be recreating the Duchess' dress in a limited edition of 23 gowns made in white, and 23 in black.
The collection will be called "Made With Love" and will be sold in McCartney's new London store in Old Bond Street. Curiously, Stella McCartney's father - Sir Paul McCarney - was once the recipient of the Polar Music Prize, the same Gala to which Princess Sofia wore the signature gown.
