Oprah Winfrey's modest gifts to Meghan Markle's mother

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey revealed what her gifts to the Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, actually were amid speculation of she trying to bride the Duchess' for an interview.

Weeks before the Royal Wedding between Markle and Prince Harry, Winfrey reportedly spent an afternoon with Ragland snacking and doing yoga, according to ET Online. This led to a number of headlines questioning the Winfrey's intention behind it all.

She finally spoke candidly about her meeting with Ragland in an interview with ET Online's Nischelle Turner on the red carpet at the premiere of her new series.

Winfrey did not deny that she gave gifts to the mother of the new Duchess of Sussex, but she did explain about the modest nature of the gifts and the intention behind giving them

"She said, 'I love kumquats,' and I said, 'I have a kumquat tree! You want some kumquats?' So it was a basket of kumquats, people," Winfrey told in the interview.

The star also revealed that the other highly speculated gift she gave Ragland was 'a yoga mat.' She explained that Ragland was great at yoga so she had asked her to bring her yoga mat - just in case they might want to do yoga on the lawn.

Winfrey also revealed that Ragland loved the fruit of kumquat and the media mogul had a kumquat tree, so she brought her a basket of kumquats.

"For all of the people who said I am getting her gifts and I'm trying to bribe her for an interview -- they were kumquats. If kumquats can get you an interview, I’m all for it!" Winfrey stated.

Both of them came together to watch Markle walk down the aisle at the St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. Winfrey described the entire event as "transformative," and added that it was "more than a wedding."
