Tyler, known for his part in Teen Mom, was 11 when he tried to take his life, and the poem he shared with his 2,4 million Instagram followers recounts what happened that day.

The first few verses describe a 'little boy almost 12 years old with an angry core' who turns to delinquent behavior to 'find a way not to have his mind collapse on the floor.'

He admits that, as a child, he would rile his teachers up and use anger as a tool to get through the day. It is later revealed that his father was absent during his childhood.

Tyler explains that he was looking forward to seeing his father that week, but their visit was canceled when he was informed that his dad has to 'go back to living in prison.'

Trying to escape the pain, Tyler climbed a tree in the backyard and impulsively wanted to hang himself with a rope attached to a swing.

It was only when the rope tightened around his neck, and his feet couldn't reach the ground, that the frightened 11-year-old realized what was happening.

When he eventually freed himself, he tried to hide the marks around his neck with makeup and practiced smiling in the mirror, to 'distract his peers from staring at' the scars.

Tyler wrote in the caption that he wasn't going to share the poem, but he also knows that he isn't the only one dealing with mental health struggles.

'I still don’t like to categorize myself as a survivor but the older I get, the more I realize that we are ALL survivors & we ALL are worthy enough to live!'

Tyler first appeared in Teen Mom when his then-girlfriend, Catelynn Lowell, expected their first child in 2009. They have since exchanged vows and welcomed their second daughter.
