He has been working hard to shed some weight, and now that he has been seeing results, Tyler Perry has been showing off his new figure.

After having trouble maintaining a healthy lifestyle through the years due to his fluctuating weight, Tyler Perry has finally stuck to a fitness regimen that works for him. Speaking to Extra TV during his book release for "Higher Is Waiting", the famous director shared that although he has been trying to lose weight for years, he finally found something that effectively worked on him.

According to Perry, he has quit eating meat for the past "couple of months". Sharing how this has worked well for him, he said:

"I feel great... I feel a lot lighter and I've lost 25 pounds."

Now that Perry seems to be maintaining a healthier lifestyle, it has given him more time to focus on the things he would like to do. Recently, he stepped out in an all-black dress shirt and tight-fitting slacks to attend the BET Awards that honoured Anita Baker with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The photo evidently shows his slimmer physique, making him look healthier than ever.

Tyler's newly-released book "Higher Is Waiting", he claims is written for "anyone that's going through anything in life.". The director-turned-author shares that the content of the book include things he learned in his own life, and advice from other people that have allowed him to "go higher".

This July, Tyler Perry celebrates his 25th year in the industry. He made sure to acknowledge his fans' support of his projects through the years, announcing that he is coming into his 25th year with two blockbuster movies. Through an Instagram post, he wrote:

"In July I'll be celebrating 25 years in this business, and in the last 18 months you've given me two #1's and a #2 movie. Thank you for all these years. Still going higher."

Tyler Perry is one of the most successful black American directors in the world, even being listed once as the highest paid man in entertainment, earning $130 million dollars between May 2010 and 2011. He is married to Gelila Bekele, and has been since 2009.
