'Sister, Sister' star Jackée Harry attended TV daughter Tamera Mowry's 40th birthday party
'Sister, Sister' fans excited as Jackée Harry hints at a reboot
Jackée Harry attended TV daughter Tamera Mowry's 40th anticipated birthday bash on the 26th of June 2018 and treated fans to a sweet reunion of the cast of 'Sister Sister', posting a photo of herself and the twins on Instagram.
Harry played exuberant Lisa Landry on the 90s sitcom 'Sister Sister.' The story centers twin girls, Tia and Tamara, who were separated at birth, adopted by different parents and find each other again as teens.
Harry's character was a single mother, and a designer by trade, she was the sensible Tia's mother, but her personality aligned better with the madcap Tamara.
The twins were played by real-life twins, Tia and Tamara Mowry who were 15 when the series started in 1994, and 20 when it ended in 1999. The two actresses and Harry have remained close after the nearly 20 years since they last worked together.
"I had such a great time celebrating @tameramowrytwo's 40th! Can you believe these girls are all grown up?"
Tia and Tamera will only turn 40 on the 6th of July, so friends and fans can expect another big celebration.
In January 2018, Harry had said that the sitcom was getting rebooted, with the twins coming back twenty years later with teen children of their own.
Fans were excited by the possibility but Tia and Tamara revealed that it would not be 'for now.' The reboot news follows a trend of reboots of family sitcoms from the 90s, following the 'Roseanne' debacle.
Tamara, the oldest twin by two minutes, married Fox News Correspondent Adam Housley in 2011 in California. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, Aden John Tanner Housley in 2012, and their daughter Ariah Talea Housley was born in 2015.
Tia Mowry married actor Cory Hardrict in 2008, and the couple welcomed their son, Cree Taylor Hardrict in 2011. In November 2017, Tia announced that she was pregnant with her second child, and welcomed her daughter Cairo Tiahna Hardrict, on May 2018.
