The Jackson family Patriarch and creator of the ‘Jackson Five' passed away battling cancer.

It was reported in the wee hours of Wednesday, June 27, 2018, that Joe Jackson was no more after he lost the battle with terminal cancer. He was 89 years old.

The world reacted to the sad news, by paying their respect on Twitter. Several celebrities and fans took to Twitter to honor the legend. Fans responded to comments by family members with sympathetic and supportive tweets.

Grandson Randy Jackson Jr posted a picture of Joe Jackson, in which he posed against one of Michael Jackson’s platinum records.

In his memorial post, Randy Credited his grandfather as the king who made everything possible, thereby crediting him with the success of all the Jackson clan.

Civil rights activist and friend of the Jackson family, Rev. Jesse Jackson Jr, posted a heartfelt message on the microblogging site.

He remembered Joe Jackson as “a beloved brother, patriarch, and creator of one of the most talented American musical dynasties.” He offered his prayers and condolences to the entire Jackson family in this time of need.

Talk show host Wendy Williams posted a photo of Jackson on her social media account and thanked him for giving the world the many gifts of talent from his family.

Jackson's wife Katherine Jackson, along with their children and grandchildren, traveled to Las Vegas, to pay their final respects.

TMZ reported on the news stating that Jackson had been ill with cancer for quite a long time, but not a lot of details regarding the said illness were revealed.

Joe Jackson seemed to have realized that his time had come to an end, as just three days earlier he had posted a cryptic message on Twitter, in which he recognized that he had lived a long life.

He added that whether you like it or not, the sun sets when the time comes, which eerily predicted his near future.
