David Foster gets engaged in Italy to girlfriend half his age

The 68-year-old musician and record producer, David Foster, is heading to the aisle again, this time with actress and singer, Katherine McPhee.

McPhee, 34, is most well known for her portrayal of Paige Dineen in the action drama series Scorpion. She shared the engagement news with her 470,000 Instagram followers on Tuesday.

It was a screenshot of a conversation she had with her friend, Jared Eng. He wanted all the details, and McPhee explained that Foster proposed on a mountaintop in Anacapri.

She added that it was 'totally dark' and only the stars were out. "Thankfully he didn't push me off the cliff. He said it was one or the other. And in the end he spared me,' she joked.

The post received more than 21,000 likes and McPhee disabled comments.

Foster shared a post on Instagram with the caption 'yup!' His daughter, the 35-year-old comedy writer and performer Erin Foster, replied 'Mommmyyy' with three heart emojis.

The couple had been dating for a while but only went public at the Met Gala back in May,

reported. It will be Foster's fifth marriage and McPhee's second.

She exchanged vows with Nick Cokas ten years ago, but the couple parted ways in 2016 after she cheated with Michael Morris, the director of Smash, Kingdom, and Thirteen Reasons Why.

Foster has five children and seven grandchildren. He was married to B.J Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson, and most recently, Yolanda Hadid, as reported by People.

According to CNN, Foster and McPhee first met twelve years ago while she was competing on the fifth season of American Idol; he assisted as her mentor.

Fans of McPhee can look forward to her upcoming projects. Intensive Care and Louisiana Caviar will be released later this year.
