Brandon Church passed away on Friday, and the announcement was made on Eric's website. Eric asked that fans donate to a worthy cause instead of sending flowers.

'It is with great sadness to confirm that Eric's brother, Brandon, passed away on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers we are encouraging everyone to donate to a Scholarship Memorial Fund created on Brandon's behalf.'

Statement on Eric's Website, July 3, 2018.

Fans can support the family by donating directly to the fundraiser or contacting Brandon's parents via the email section on the website. To learn more, follow us on Twitter at AmoMama USA.

At the time of writing, more than ninety fans and followers have donated $21,565, and the funds will be used 'to bless others and honor a benevolent life.'

While most of the donations on the page are set to 'undisclosed,' some of the contributions include $100 and $200 payments, for which the family is incredibly grateful.

As reported by People, Brandon was 36 years old, and the cause of death has not been made known publicly as yet. However, Brandon suffered 'multiple seizures.'

He was rushed from his home in North Carolina to the hospital during one of the seizures and passed away soon after.

Local authorities investigated the matter and confirmed that no foul play was suspected.

According to CMT, the brothers founded the band The Mountain Boys in the late nineties and shared their passion for songwriting.

Brandon co-wrote several of his brother's hits, including How 'Bout You from Eric's debut album, and Without You Here three years later.

Brandon is survived by his daughter McKenzie, his parents Ben and Rita, as well as his brother Eric, sister Kendra and his in-laws.
