David Foster's daughters have mixed reaction to father's fifth marriage proposal
David Foster’s adult daughters, Erin and Sara, poked fun of their father’s recent engagement to Katharine McPhee but clarified that they approve of her.
It will be Foster’s fifth marriage as he recently proposed to McPhee during a romantic getaway in Capri. Seemingly, Foster’s daughters are very supportive of the fact that their father will be tying the knot with a woman who is exactly half his age.
Foster, who is 68, posted a sweet photo of himself and his 34-year-old fiancée on Instagram which was taken during their vacation in Capri.
Erin and Sara were quick to post comments on their father’s post to poke fun at the couple.

According to their comments on Foster’s post, the two daughters seem to be taking the news very well.
Erin, who is a year older than McPhee, wrote, ‘Mommmyyy’ with three red heart emojis. Shortly after, 27-year-old Sara also commented and jokingly wrote, ‘Out of the country. What did I miss?’

Both daughters have been open in the past in talking about their approval of the American Idol alum.
In 2017, Erin spoke with People and admitted that the family adores McPhee.
She said, “She’s amazing. I really like her. She’s awesome. My dad is kind of a hopeless romantic, and Katharine’s awesome. We really, really like her, and we’ve known her for a really long time. And if he’s happy, we’re happy.”
As for Sara, she also spoke with Us Weekly in December 2017 and suggested that they approve of McPhee wholeheartedly. She also took the opportunity to call out the people who are criticizing her father and McPhee’s relationship.
McPhee shared the proposal news on her Instagram post and revealed that Foster asked the question ‘at the top of this mountain in Anacapri.’
