CBS has found a regular replacement for Pauley Perrette in 'NCIS'

NCIS has finally found a permanent replacement for Pauley Perrette’s former character Abby Sciuto. CBS announced on Wednesday that actress Diona Reasonover would be taking over.

According to the network’s Twitter, the actress has been accepted full time for season 16. She will play the character of Kasie Hines.

CBS announced that the new full-time forensic scientist for NCIS would be Diona Reasonover. Her character, Kasie Hines, was initially introduced in season 15, episode 17.

Reasonover first appeared on the show in the episode that aired in March 2018. At the time, she starred as a graduate assistant to David McCallum’s Ducky.

Reasonover has appeared in three episodes of NCIS. She was once brought in by Gibbs (Mark Harmon) after Sciuto left the show to help out on a case.

Deadline reported that Hines called Sciuto to get her blessing before joining the team on a temporary basis. Hines, just like Sciuto, has her own distinct personality.

Reasonover is a veteran of the CBS family with a background in comedy. She wrote and performed during the 2014 CBS Diversity Showcase and served as head writer in 2015

Reasonover has guest-starred on CBS' 2 Broke Girls, Grace and Frankie, Superstore, Girl Meets World, and Comedy Bang! Bang! She also co-starred on Clipped.

Her writing credits include the Emmy-nominated I Love You, America, I Love Dick, and Adam Ruins Everything. NCIS has remained CBS' most popular drama series.

Their latest season averaged 17 million viewers per episode. NCIS season 16 will premiere Tuesday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

The season premiere of NCIS: New Orleans will be at 10 p.m.
