The Blast: Famous star is joining cast in new season of 'DWTS: Juniors'
The famous reality TV star known as ‘Honey Boo Boo’ will compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars, a special edition of the dance show that will feature celebrity children.
The Blast reported that the 12-year-old subject of TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, whose real name is Alina Thompson has been in Los Angeles for the past week training for her participation in the dance competition.
The news outlet cited unnamed sources that assure that Thompson is taking this new project very seriously and she is making her best effort to give a great performance in the show. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa.
According to the same sources, her mother, ‘Mama’ June Shannon is also in the city to assist her daughter in her preparations for the fall season of the show, which will start airing in September.
As Pop Culture reported, DWTS first Junior edition will feature a child-star-only cast, but the ABC network, responsible for the successful contest show, is yet to announce the official line-up.
Life and Style shared that 13-year-old Black-ish star Miles Brown could also be getting ready to join the cast of the upcoming edition for what would be his dancing debut.
Dance pros Cheryl Burke, Hayley Ebert, Jenna Johnson, Lindsay Arnold, Artem Chigvintsev, Keo Motsepe, Sasha Farber, GlevSavchenko, Witney Carson, and Emma Slater were recently spotted heading into the DWTS studio.
These will be the mentors of the competing pairs that will battle for the Mirrorball Trophy. Brightyn Brems and Hailey Bills were also seen arriving at the studio, and they will reportedly be two of the 'junior pros' for the season.
Despite her young age, Thompson has starred in no less than three reality shows since 2012, and she is set to renew her diminishing fame stepping into the DWTS arena.
As US Weekly pointed out, Dancing With the Stars: Juniors will be the second spinoff of the dancing series. This year, an all-athletes edition of the reality competition was released, titled Dancing With the Stars: Athletes.
