Tom Jones has to cancel gig due to health issues

Due to health problems – such as a bacterial infection – Tom Jones had to cancel two shows as he was admitted to the hospital.

The singer was forced to announce that he was pulling out of his live performance following his diagnosis. Jones took to Twitter to inform his fans of the news.

He is presently touring the world and was set to perform at Stansted Park, West Sussex, on July 18th.

Although, hours before the show, Jones’ representatives posted a statement on his Facebook page declaring he won’t be able to make it to the performance.

A day after, his people made a second announcement on Twitter that he will be missing his show in Chester since he was already receiving treatment in the hospital at the time.

‘Sir Tom Jones has a bacterial infection for which he is being treated in hospital. The condition is being well managed and we are hoping for a speedy recovery,’ read the statement.

Jones’ representatives explained in the statement how disappointed the singer was for missing the show.

In addition to the show’s cancellation, the statement also revealed that the postponed show had been rescheduled to August 12th. The same tickets for the July 19th show will be used for the new date.

Also, ticket holders who won’t be able to go to the event will receive a full refund at their point of purchase.

The organizers also apologized to the fans for the inconvenience.

This was not the first time that Jones backed out of a gig due to medical issues. In September 2017, he pushed back dates to May 2018 for his American tour.

Fans were disappointed upon learning of the show’s cancellation but expressed their wishes for Jones’ speedy recovery.
