After fans called Lauryn Hill out during her Toronto concert for the terrible sound quality to her notorious tardiness, the singer has decided to cancel some of her upcoming tour dates.
Her "Miseducation" tour was meant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her hit album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". According to Billboard, however, after numerous complaints, the singer took the initiative to cancel her shows in Charlotte, North Carolina, Raleigh, North Carolina, St. Petersburg, Florida, and Virginia Beach. Some of her shows have also been moved to later dates, such as those in Nashville, Atlanta, and Miami.
A statement by Live Nation explained the cuts and moves as "unforeseen production issues".
"Due to unforeseen production issues, a select number of dates on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour have been postponed or cancelled. For postponed shows, tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date."
Among those set to hit the stage with the singer included M.I.A., A$AP Rocky, Nas, Big Boi, Santigold, SZA, Dave Chapelle, and Busta Rhymes.
This is not the first time Hill has had trouble with her tours, and her fans are not quick to forget. When she announced her latest one, fans expressed apprehension due to what had happened last time such as the singer arriving extremely late for the concerts, to other technical issues. While they tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, it seems their apprehension has been proven right given the set of issues that have arisen early in her tour.
However, her production crew's early announcement came as a blessing in disguise for fans, especially those who were just planning to purchase tickets for the tour. This might seem like trouble for the rest of the fans who are planning to purchase tickets for the other uncancelled tour dates, as they might feel uneasy to spend their money on something as unpredictable as Lauryn Hill's concert dates.
Specific reasons for the cancellations have yet to be revealed, but right now, fans are just done with it.
