Dorien Wilson melts hearts in pic with ex-wife who is reportedly still a close friend after divorce

The actor, better known for his role as Professor Stanley Oglevee on the sitcom “The Parkers,” recently shared a photo with his ex-wife and mother of his two kids, showing that despite being divorced, they’re still great friends.

Dorien Wilson has been part of the entertainment industry for over three decades. He has appeared in several sitcoms such as “Dream On,” “Sister, Sister,” “The Steve Harvey Show,” and “Goode Behavior.” These days, he’s better known to younger generations for his role in Bounce TV sitcom “In the Cut.”

The 55-years-old and his ex-wife, JoAnn Wilson, met in the sixth grade, and what started as a friendship soon evolved into something else. The pair got married in 1986 and are the parents of two children, daughter Sarita, 30, and son Devin, 23.

While the couple is confirmed to have divorced, neither the reason for the separation or the year it took place has been made public.

They did spend more than eight years together, because back in 1995 when Wilson was at the peak of his career with “Dream On,” he explained in an interview with the L.A Times that the striking difference between him and his character, Eddie Charles, was their view on relationships.

He said:

“Let's put it this way, Eddie loves women, and I think it's great since I'm so different from him, being very married with two kids. I get to live out this fantasy life on screen, get away with it and get paid.”

Parting ways with a loved one in such a stressful situation like a divorce can cause a rift in the relationship, but it seems like that was not the case for Wilson and JoAnn.

These days, the ex-couple are closer than ever, posting pictures together and paying each other compliments, telling how much they love one another and going to exclusive events and parties together.

Dorien recently took to his Instagram account to share a photo with JoAnn at the BET Gifting Suit, ahead of the BET Awards back in June. In the pic, Wilson is rocking silver pants and a vest with a black t-shirt underneath and a fedora to add more style to his look. JoAnn, on the other hand, went for a sleeveless gray dress and silver accessories.

A comment from a friend seems to hint that there’s something more going between the former husband and wife. Instagram user @pajones415 wrote “Great looking couple,” to which Wilson replied:

“_@pajones415 thank you, brother Jones… We still hanging in there!”

JoAnn, who created her Instagram account a few months ago and inaugurated it by posting the same photo, has also shared other beautiful snaps alongside Dorien and their kids.

One post, in particular, caught out attention, as she wrote in her caption “Love you dorienwilson_,” and the actor replied:

“Will always be the love of my life!”

There’s more than it meets the eye with these two, and since they have such a beautiful family, is good to know that after all these years and divorce, their love remains stronger than ever.
