K. Michelle breaks silence on romance with Idris Elba
Singer K. Michelle breaks her silence about her short but sweet romance with Idris Elba in a recent interview. She had nothing but lovely memories of her former beau, which she now shares with the rest of the world.
Back in 2014, R&B singer and "Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta" star K. Michelle dated English actor Idris Elba for a few months. Despite their short relationship, Michelle definitely had a lot to say about the actor.
In an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Kimberly Michelle Pate, recalls her 8-month relationship with the actor, who called himself an "eternal bachelor".
As much as K. Michelle liked being with him, Idris himself straight up told her that he might not be able to commit himself to one woman in his life.
"“He told me, he would never be committed to one woman. He said I would be taken care of, I would be fine but he would never commit to one woman.”
That's why when the "Can't Raise A Man" singer found out about Elba's engagement to Sabrina Dhowre, she started to question herself about what she did wrong.
"I [was] like, 'Damn [expleive, you had something I didn’t have!' Men are different with different women."
Clearly still distraught about the fact that Idris told her she was never going to be a one-woman man and then suddenly getting engaged, she shared how the English actor was supposed to be her man.
"That wasn’t supposed to be my man, Out of every relationship I’ve been in or [men] I’ve dated, I learned the most from him. It wasn’t volatile or angry. He didn’t bring out [me] cursing him out. He was a gentleman…[and gave] amazing head, I remember that."
K discussed how she met her ex-boyfriend, which was at the Soul Train Awards. When she won "Best New Artist", Idris goes up to her and tells her how beautiful she is. After some convincing, it was her bodyguard that gave the actor her number, to which he texted he was going to a party that apparently, both of them were going to. Eventually, I Heart Radio shares that the two of them met in LA again, and the rest was history.
