Chanel Iman and Sterling Shephard welcome their first baby girl

Supermodel Chanel Iman, declared one of the top 30 models of the 2000s by Vogue Paris, took to Instagram to announce the birth of her first child.

In the photo, Chanel was laying on a bed while the baby, Cali Clay Shepard, was peacefully resting on her chest. The model’s husband, NFL professional Sterling Shepard, was also next to the duo.

For the caption, the proud mother just wrote Cali’s full name and the date she was born: August 10, 2018. As soon as that picture was uploaded, Chanel’s fans and followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

One of them was Instagram user @longhairstilldontcare167, who pointed out that Cali was very pretty and that her cheeks and eyes were similar to her mother’s.

That was not the only image the model posted on social media addressing the birth of her daughter. A different post gave a better glimpse at her, Sterling, and Cali on the hospital bed while the mother seemed to be breastfeeding.

The caption of that photo revealed two things: it was a natural birth, and the family created an Instagram account for the baby. Chanel wrote the following message: “You were worth every push every contraction! Welcome to our world @caliclayshepard Love mommy and daddy @sterl_shep3.”

THEIR LOVE STORY

Sterling and Chanel met each other at Victor Cruz's birthday party in 2016. After dating for a while, they got engaged in December 2017 and, three months later – March 3, 2018 – they tied the knot at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The supermodel announced her pregnancy in May and, in a conversation she had with People, she revealed that her pregnancy had been amazing and that she was very anxious to meet her baby.

Sterling was as excited as his wife as he even asked his coach for some time off to be present in Cali’s birth.

“I’m super excited about it. On game days, I see guys … they have their babies down there, and it’s a warm feeling when you see that. I’m looking forward to it … I can’t wait,” said Sterling.
