Sherri Shepherd flaunts slimmer legs in new video after drastic weight loss
Award-winning comedian, Sherri Shepherd gave followers a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes with a hilarious video shared on Instagram. Shepherd has been flaunting results from her weight loss journey, but what she said recently about her relationship status is the real deal.
She’s a comedian, so we’re not surprised when she makes us laugh. But in the video Shepherd shared on Tuesday, the Emmy-award winner came close to hurting herself. The recording opens to Shepherd standing on a swivel chair, looking like she might fall the next minute. There’s a lot of laughing in the background as she struggles to help herself down. One voice (Shepherd's caption later reveals it to be Kim Whitley's) asks hilariously:
“Why’re you up there, first of all?”
Shepherd replies, laughing at herself like a true comic:
“‘Cause I wanted you to take a cute picture. I wanted you to take a cute picture of me, and I can’t get down!”
She continues to struggle with getting off the chair, a feat that proves challenging thanks to her mini dress and high heels. After a while, however, Shepherd wriggles herself off the chair. She explains in the caption:
“The #foolishness that goes on behind the scenes @flyjocktomjoyner #morningshow ... I was trying to take a pic and got stuck did @kymwhitley even try to help!!! #sherrishepherd #kymwhitley #tomjoyner #sybilwilkes #singlemom #radio #workinghard ... even more craziness if you come see me @cobbscomedyclub this #Friday & #saturday Aug 17 & 18 #laughter #comedy”
It sure is good to see Shepherd happy and laughing after all she’s been through. While the former “The View” co-host has recorded success with her weight loss journey, the same cannot be said for her personal life.
MARRIAGE TROUBLES
Shepherd was married to her first husband, Jeff Tarpley, from 2001 to 2010 and they share a son, Jeffrey Charles Tarpley. After their divorce, Shepherd married Lamar Sally in 2011, and they got divorced in 2014. Her second marriage also produced a son, Lamar Sally Jr. who was born through surrogacy after their break-up.
SAYING GOODBYE TO ONE CHILD
After a long, nasty battle over child support payments with her second ex-husband, Shepherd decided to stay out of Lamar Jr.’s life and only pay child support. No doubt, she got a lot of backlash for her choice, but Shepherd justified her actions, saying:
“He’s on my health insurance. He’s got a life insurance policy in case anything happens to me. He’ll be taken care of the way Jeffrey is. I’ve just chosen to take myself out because I think it’s worse for a child with two parents not getting along.”
Recently also, Jeffrey’s father, Tarpley, filed a request for additional child support from Shepherd, who he says is now earning more.
WILL THE THIRD TIME BE A CHARM?
With these happenings, it’s no surprise that Shepherd, 51, has sworn off men for life and is not looking for a Number 3. In a recent sit-down with Wendy Williams, she declared:
“Girl, I can’t afford another marriage. I’m fine. I’m content.”
