J.Lo wows VMAs with rousing journey through her musical past
The singer offered a spectacular performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2018 held at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. She revisited her major hits and received one of the highest honors.
Jennifer Lopez’s trajectory of more than 20 years was celebrated during the August 20 gala, with the star receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her many accomplishes, as Harper’s Bazaar reported.
Lopez, is the first Latina to win the MTV career award, renamed after Michael Jackson in 1991 for the way he revolutionized the art of the music video. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa.
The “Shades of Blue” star, in turn, gifted the audience and everyone watching remotely with an outstanding performance that went through JLo’s biggest hits and left nobody indifferent.
The multitalented artist showed all her power on stage when performing a medley of her best songs since her beginnings in the music industry in 1999, bringing back tunes such as “Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Get It Right,” and “Waiting for Tonight.”
Lopez was very touched as she received the prestigious award, thanking the music network MTV for the honor.

“You have touched my heart and my soul, and become a part of me. Loyalty is everything to me. Anybody who knows me knows that you have won me over forever, thank you, I love you,” she said about her fans.
The mother-of-two mentioned her “angels” Max and Emme, crediting them as the biggest source of strength to go on. She also dedicated loving words to her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, who was sitting among the audience.
Rodriguez enjoyed his girlfriend’s performance from the front row, and he was as proud as always, even taking pictures of Lopez with his phone.
Her show marked the first time she performs at the awards show since 2001, and she didn’t disappoint, proving that she only gets better as time goes by. She owned the stage and captivated the public with her voice and sensual moves.
Following the big night, Lopez appeared as a guest on “the Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, flaunting her dancing skills throughout the entire episode as Fallon hilariously tried to dance along.
