Swizz Beatz's ex-wife shares pic with their tall son from Egypt trip with Alicia Keys
Mashonda Tifrere and her son share a special moment during their recent vacation in Egypt where they're joined by the rest of their blended family. Tifrere's ex-husband Swizz Beatz and his wife Alicia Keys were also in Egypt along with their children.
A recent photo of Mashonda Tifrere and her son vacationing in Egypt is cause for so much joy. But what’s also refreshing is the fact that they were in Egypt along with Mashonda’s ex-husband Swizz Beatz, his current wife Alicia Keys and their children.
Eight years ago, you would never have imagined the three adults taking a trip together. Beatz was still married to Tifrere when he hooked up with his childhood friend, Keys. Months after Beatz’s divorce from Tifrere was finalized in 2010, he went on to marry an already pregnant Keys. Hurt by the pain her husband and his mistress caused her, Tifrere penned an open letter the year later bashing Keys for destroying her marriage. A portion of her letter read,
“If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the ending of my marriage. You know that I asked you to step back and let me handle my family issues. Issues that you helped to create.”
With the amount of hatred Tifrere had for Keys, it was a surprise when years later, they’d let bygones be bygones. Tifrere somehow forgave Keys and is now in a healthy co-parenting relationship with Beatz for the sake of their son, Kaseem Jr.
Even more admirable is the fact that they’re now traveling together as one big happy blended family. Photos from their trip reveal Keys and Tifrere spending time together. Beatz’s five children from 4 different mothers were also bonding at the dessert.
Tifrere was especially happy to be spending time with her son as she shared a photo of the two of them at the entrance of the Ptolemaic temple of the goddess Hathor. In her caption, she wrote, “with my sweet @kaseemsdream” after explaining the history behind the temple.
Tifrere looked lovingly at her grown son as they stood side by side beneath gigantic pillars with intricate Egyptian carvings. The mother and son almost share the same height. Kaseem, who’s named after his father, is now 11.
Tifrere, Keys and Beatz may have moved on from their past but fans haven’t. When Beatz posted a photo of him shading his wife with an umbrella under the Egyptian sun, fans took the opportunity to drag Keys back in the mud. They slammed the singer for being a homewrecker but Beatz wouldn’t have it. He responded by reminding them that Tifrere is with them on the trip and if she could be cool with Keys then why can’t fans be cool with that too.
