Beckham couple invites special star to celebrate son Romeo's 16th birthday

Romeo Beckham got quite the birthday present when his parents David and Victoria Beckham invited Elton John to celebrate with them.

On August 30, David, 43, and Victoria, 44, took Romeo, who turned 16 on September 1, out for dinner with his siblings Brooklyn, 19, Cruz, 13, and Harper, 7.

Elton and his husband, David Furnish, both of whom serve as godparents to Romeo, were also invited to the event.

Victoria documented the occasion on her personal Instagram account. She posted a video of the whole table singing "Happy Birthday" to Romeo.

In the clip, Brooklyn looked on lovingly while Romeo seemed slightly embarrassed. Harper, on the other hand, appeared to be mesmerized by the sparklers and David was sipping wine.

The couple Elton and David sang powerfully for Romeo and looked thrilled the whole time.

Victoria captioned the video: "Early birthday celebrations! X From the best godparents @eltonjohn @davidfurnish x kisses x."

Cruz also took to his Instagram account to share a clip, where Harper can be seen smiling, laughing and conversing as the same musicians play in the background.

The singer of the Beckham clan captioned the post: "Great night with @romeobeckham @brooklynbeckham @victoriabeckham @davidbeckham @eltonjohn @davidfurnish happy early birthday Romeo, love you."

The Beckham family have been friends with Elton for decades. Recently, the family spent time on Elton's yacht in the south of France.

David posted a photo of himself with the Grammy award winner on Instagram.

"Uncle Elton.... We have known each other now for 25 years .. Fun times with each other @eltonjohn @davidfurnish," he wrote.

Elton also took to Instagram to share a photo of him posing with David and Victoria.

"Winding down my Summer holiday with these lovely people. @victoriabeckham @davidbeckham," he captioned the snap.

Victoria and David began dating in 1997 after they met at a charity football match. The couple was married on July 4, 1999.
