AFTER KINSEY WAS GONE
Lann’s grandson, Matthew McVey told InsideEdition.com:
“My grandma has been pretty upset about the whole thing. We realized her mood had changed."Lann’s husband died in 2011, sharing most of Kinsey’s life with him."
This made it particularly hard on Lann when Kinsey died a month ago after 14 years with him.
THE FAMILY CAME TOGETHER
The Lann family decided to help and Matthew McVey’s mother decided to get her a dog while recovering in a rehabilitation facility after recent health issues.
McVey told The Dodo:
"She was always upset and said sometimes she would feel so empty without her 'little shadow.' That’s what my granddad would call her. Kinsey was really the only thing that made her happy."They searched the local shelter and found the perfect dog, a Lhasa Apso pup called Sammy."
The video shows how Lann breaks out into tears of joy when Sammy enters the room.
Shortly after Sammy is in her arms and Lann hugs him lovingly.
