Young dancer enters the stage and blows judges off their feet with his stunning performance
Michael Dameski is a contestant on “World of Dance” who is making waves. At one point, the contemporary dancer waited in suspense to find out if he’d made it into the Upper Division Final.
He has since gone on to perform a ninja routine to impress the judges and compete against the other contestants. Judges couldn’t help but sing their praises for him.
During the Cut, Michael Dameski was one of 7 acts competing for three slots in the Upper Division Final of “World of Dance.” He also happened to be the only soloist competing against 6 duos.
Before his performance, Dameski was mentored by judge Derek Hough and his sister Julianne Hough. He confessed to them that his routine was inspired by his grandparents.

His grandparents currently live home in Australia and are dealing with declining health. The Hough siblings, therefore, encouraged him to pour out those emotions on stage which he did.
The judges loved his technique and the emotion poured into the performance. Jennifer Lopez thought he danced “like an angel.”
Derek said he appreciated how Dameski’s acrobatic tricks were connected with “movement and fluidity” instead of going from backflip to backflip. Ne-Yo added that a few of the subtle moves in the contestant’s dance looked elegant but must have been more intense for Dameski.
In another performance, Dameski unleashed his inner ninja. For that performance, his mentors Jennifer Lopez and Ciara advised him to fully commit to the emotions of the choreography and really lose himself in the character.
Once again, he did what he was told. He danced with doubles of himself projected onto the screen behind him while delivered rhythmic and athletic movements.
He ended the dance with such an intense flourish that Derek jumped out of his seat. He said:
“You’re so solid. You’re so artistic. What’s so amazing about this performance was your character — the ninja, the warrior — at this stage of the competition was a perfect character to choose.”
Ne-Yo wasn’t so impressed and felt that the contestant had to “give us perfection” in order to stand a chance against Karen y Ricardo, who are his competitors. Guest judge Misty Copeland told him, “You have it all.”
