Serena Williams compliments adorable little girl and her reaction is priceless
Given her international superstar stature, Serena Williams has fans from all continents, all races, and all ages. That's why when she recently complimented an adorable little girl, the young one couldn't believe it and her reaction was priceless.
Serena's husband, Alexis Ohanian Sr., captured a sweet moment between his wife and a little girl, who had the most adorable reaction when she was spoken to by the tennis star. He made sure to share the moment with their fans on Instagram last Tuesday, and many were in awe with what happened.
Williams was in New York to host a youth event due to her upcoming Serena Williams "Queen" Collection when she noticed that the little girl was wearing an "S" necklace.
After getting a compliment from Serena because of the necklace she wore, the proud little girl said:
"I wear it just for you."
When Serena says that she finds the necklace cute, the little girl started freaking out, and many people found the moment so precious especially since that simple compliment from Serena will definitely motivate that girl to keep striving for greatness and continue persevering in the sport.
In the youth event, Williams spoke to dozens of young women from various tennis clubs across New York, while showing off her latest collection which features a collab between Nike and Louis Vuitton designer Virgil Abloh.
This comes after her controversial loss in this year's US Open, where she was given multiple game violations by the chair umpire, which caused her to lose the game against the first-time champion, a much younger Naomi Osaka.
Serena called the umpire a "thief" for stealing points from her, but even without the violations, she was losing sets against the nineteen-year-old.
In the end, Williams accepted her defeat and was given a $17,000 US dollar fine for her violations. Instead of dwelling on what had happened, she has chosen to move on and better herself, even helping out in youth events such as her launch to inspire future tennis players.
"This young lady's reaction is everything. What is your S?"
