Drunk woman arrested for trying to recreate iconic ‘Dirty Dancing’ move at wine store

A Total Wine store briefly had the time of its life when an intoxicated customer attempts an iconic dance move with legal consequences.

On September 17, Cindy Barrientos got carried away while trying to re-enact a scene from the 1987 movie ‘Dirty Dancing.’ Scenes from the movie have been recreated in many settings like weddings, dance clubs, college bars and even the movie ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ that came out in 2011, but for the Total Wine store in Florida, it was a first.

Which scene from the ‘Dirty Dancing’ movie she was trying to recreate is unclear, but the one thing that was clear is that she was intoxicated as surmised from her liquor breath and bloodshot eyes.

The manager asked the pair to leave, however, Cindy Barrientos went back in, as they forgot to buy more alcohol. Police got called to the store in Jensen Beach, Florida as she was ‘believed to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance, according to authorities.24-year-old Barrientos got placed under arrest and charged with disorderly intoxication, and with order restored in the Total Wine store, everything went back to normal.

Scenes from the movie are more enjoyable to those watching when done by professionals, like the cast that recently entertained audiences with a stage adaptation of the movie ‘Dirty Dancing’ at the Theater Royal, Brighton, England.

The tale of forbidden romance at a 1960s holiday resort was expertly told with thrilling choreography performed with gusto by the enthusiastic cast. Kira Malou and Michael O’Reilly played the lead roles, both fantastic dancers that did justice to their characters throughout their performance.

As mentioned earlier, amateurs have attempted the epic lift from the ‘Dirty Dancing’ movie on countless occasions and places, at a wedding that took place in Escondido, California a groomsman and his partner tried the iconic lift at the reception.

Lack of skill set them up for hilarious failure as the smiling blond leaped up towards the groomsman who placed his hands too far back on her body, causing her to topple over, taking him with her as they tumbled to the ground. A wedding reception that will not easily be forgotten.
