People: Meghan Markle's mom Doria Ragland is 'very happy' about duchess' pregnancy news
On Monday, Kensington Palace announced the news that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were expecting their first child together. This would be Doria Ragland’s, Meghan’s mother, first grandchild.
It’s been reported that she has taken the good news very well. She’s said to be “very happy” and ready to welcome the child.
Kensington Palace revealed that Duchess Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, 62, was ready to become a grandmother. They shared her reaction to Meghan, 37, and Harry’s, pregnancy news.
The statement read:
“Ms. Ragland is very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. A Royal insider shared that Meghan had her 12-week scan and was “feeling well.” In September, Ragland was seen taking baby-care classes in Pasadena, California.

It’s possible that she might move to London to help look after her grandchild when the baby is born. Reports have also stated that Ragland has also been learning nanny skills and things like first aid from specialist coaches in Los Angeles, where she currently stays.

Currently, it isn’t clear if Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, has heard the good news. This year, he did reveal that his daughter has wanted a baby of her own for a "long time."
He said at the time:
"She's wanted children for a long time. When she met Harry and she spoke about how much she loves him... there's got to be a child in the making there soon.”
Another person who is happy with the pregnancy news is the Queen. She was said to be “delighted” with the news and congratulated Meghan and Harry, 34.

The Duchess is believed to have conceived just ten weeks after she got married. She and her husband told the Queen about the pregnancy last Friday during Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle.
