This year Mo’Nique has achieved a significant milestone in her weight loss journey, and she’s looking stunning in one of her recent Instagram pics, showing off her hourglass figure in a black dress. The actress recently slammed down the rumors about her getting surgery to lose her pounds.
At 50, Mo’Nique is looking and feeling better than ever, as she recently confessed in the caption of a photo on her Instagram account. The “Precious” star sizzled in a sleeveless black dress with a ruffled neckline that hugged every inch of her curvaceous figure.
Mo’Nique styled her hair in a sleek top bun and proudly displayed her gray hairs, oozing class and confidence. Her caption revealed a woman that knows her worth, it reads:
“50 IS FEELING REALLLL GOOD SISTERS. When I was younger I thought 50 was old. I actually feel younger now, then when I was younger.”
The actress and comedian has been working out on shedding some pounds for the last two years.
She stopped taking care of herself and her body to the point where her weight had reached the 300lbs. So, earlier this year, she was more than excited to share with fans the good news about reaching one of her weight loss goals: being under the 200lbs for the first time in 33 years.
The Academy Award winner disclosed the secret behind her transformation, stating that she achieved her goals “with no surgery” and “no pre-packaged foods.”
“I want to share with y’all what it looked like on the scale this morning, and I want to share with y’all the goodness that you can eat and still drop this weight. It’s called raw foods, it’s called dancing your pounds off. It’s called giving yourself the chance to live the best life you can live.”
Mo’Nique is committed to leading a healthier lifestyle, and dancing has been her number one ally in the process, alongside a balanced diet and a positive mindset.
On Wednesday, she shared a new video performing a rigorous and extenuate aerobic dance routine with her coach, and took the opportunity to debunk the rumors swirling around the web about her going under a gastric bypass surgery, saying:
“SURGERY YOU ASK? Baby this is all the SURGERY I've ever done. DANCE SURGERY. @dwightholtjr is my SURGEON. Sisters it works. Benefits-LONGER LIFE. Love Y'all 4 real.”
However, some trolls and haters were not convinced about Mo’s statement, and one user, in particular, caught the actress’ attention.
"I told yaw she was still fat & sloppy Richard Simmons, please help this sexy pig," Instagram used @scottiecrakks wrote.
Mo'Nique her cool and clapped back in the most condescending tone ever:
"@scottiecrakks Thank you for always showing up. Now can we please LOVE ON OUR brother. We can tell your PAIN IS REAL BABY. We love you 2 life."
Fans praised Mo’Nique for her classy comeback, proving once again that they have her back no matter what.
Last year, Mo’Nique opened up about the reasons behind her decision of losing weight. Apart from her husband Sidney Hicks urging her to lose weight because he wanted her “around for a lifetime,” she also kept her children in mind.
“I have a son who is 23, but I also have a son who is nine. And we have twins who are seven. I want to meet their children. I want to be able to play with their children. I don’t want to be a burden on my family due to self-neglect….I was fortunate to watch my grandmother play with my children. I want to be in the same position.”
A high blood pressure diagnosis also rang the alarms in her brain, as she admitted to having been “a child in my way of thinking.” “I thought that I could eat what I wanted, do what I wanted, and was reckless in the sense of abusing my body. That’s when I was younger,” she stated.
On October 16, Mo’Nique showed her fans what it feels like to live her best life, dancing to Cardi B’s hit song, “Bodak Yellow” on a photo shoot set.
Judging from the many pictures flaunting her new body on social media, Mo’Nique is not only slimmer, but she’s also brimming with confidence!
