Man stabs wife 46 times, but she tells the court she’ll wait for him till he’s freed
Shannon Barnard is lucky to be alive after her husband told her: "You've got to die." Still, she wants a life with him after his release from jail.
According to the Daily Mail, Michael Barnard, 25, was sentenced to 20 years in jail after being found guilty. The attack on January 11, 2018, left his wife with a collapsed lung, and injuries to four vital organs.
Shannon, 21, told the Maidstone Crown Court in Kent that she had forgiven her husband for his heinous actions. She also said she wants a family with him when he gets out.

She visits Barnard in prison whenever possible, despite the fact he left her near death. The pair were going through a tense period following a rape accusation against Michael.
Shannon confronted him about it and it led to "confrontations and conversations," according to prosecutor Christopher May. Michael admitted he cheated but said it wasn't rape, rather it was "passionate sex" which the other woman consented to.
Shannon wrote a note one night describing how her husband was "torturing" her. Michael also wrote a note about being "a good person" and never cheating again.

The very next day, Michael stood with a knife over his wife and began attacking her. His phone was nearby and his father was on the line.
When Shannon said she had to call her dad, Michael replied, "No, you've got to die." He then inflicted stab wounds to her chest and abdomen, causing a large number of injuries, "some of which were very serious indeed, including damage to her lungs, liver and bowels," said May.
Luckily, Shannon's father-in-law heard the attack and rushed over with his wife and an uncle. The medical staff that cared for Shannon ultimately saved her life.

Michael was cleared of the rape charge but sentenced to 20 years. When asked about their future, Shannon said:
"Just to be together and have the life that we both want with each other and have a family."
A similar incident occurred in 2015 when a wife was convicted of attempting to kill her boyfriend.
The woman, Carrie Bevan, intentionally hit her ex-boyfriend Danny Birchall with her vehicle. She left him with rib, shoulder, and skull fractures as well as three blood clots in his brain.

Birchall said: "I still love her, I love her to pieces. She is not an evil person."
"She is one of the best girls I've known ten years with, I still love and care for her."

Meanwhile, a woman who was stabbed over 20 times by her husband did not survive the attack.
Sadly, Victoria Bance succumbed to her injuries even after she had made a call to emergency services.
Call records reflect that the woman's struggle was heard through the call. But the husband, Robert Bance, called back to say everything was fine
Despite the sound of a woman desperately screaming in the background, the operator took no further steps. Robert then called again to confess he had killed his wife. He received a life sentence for the crime.
