Idris Elba reveals how he proposed to longtime lady love Sabrina Dhowre

Idris Elba is engaged to Sabrina Dhowre. Now he finally reveals how he went about his proposal.

Idris Elba, 2018's The Sexiest Man Alive, proposed to his stunning model fiance in February this year. He popped the question in an uber-romantic manner.

The proposal had gone viral after someone had posted a video of it to social media. It even made international news.

THE PROPOSAL:

He initially intended to propose on Valentines Day, but due to scheduling conflicts, it seemed impossible to him. Instead, Idris opted to pop the question while filming the movie Yardie.

45 year old, Idris Elba got down on one knee during a preview screening of the movie. The proposal took place at the Rio Cinema in East London.

Rio Cinema tweeted about the event saying, "Another @riocinema first! Still, five days to Valentines Day but @idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film #Yardie."

Some fans comically replied with horror, joking that he was now officially off the market. The comments kept rolling in with congratulatory messages for the happy couple.

IDRIS ELBA'S RELATIONSHIPS:

Elba has been married twice. His first marriage was to Hanne Norgaard. However, the relationship ended in 2003. He was also briefly married to Sonya Hamlin.

Dhowre and Elba have been dating since early 2017. They got engaged almost a year later.

The gorgeous Sabrina Dhowre is 29 years old. She is the former Miss Vancouver and a model. Dhowre hails from Somalian descent.

She accompanied Elba to the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Instead of following the examples of everyone else with conservative style choices on the day, Dhowre's outfit choice had many critics raising their eyebrows.
