Evan Ross steals the show while singing to his mom Diana in Vegas
Evan Ross stole the spotlight from his iconic mother at one of her recent shows in Las Vegas, but only for a few minutes. The singer-songwriter serenaded his mom with his new single, “I Do.”
Diana Ross brought the house down at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas with nine sold out shows that proved she still has the power to attract a big audience. The Grammy Award winner delighted fans with her voice and showstopping outfits in a performance worthy of Las Vegas.
On her last night, Ross brought her youngest son, Evan Ross, on stage. The 30-year-old took over the microphone momentarily, serenading his mom and the audience with an acapella rendition of his most recent single “I Do,” which he originally sings with wife Ashlee Simpson.
EVAN TAKES THE STAGE
A clip shared by Ross on her Instagram account shows the young man and father of one rocking a long black and blue coat and a black hat while standing to her on stage. Diana, on the other hand, looked stunning in a sparkly red set of pants, blouse, and blazer, as she joined her son for the last chords of the song.
“My dear and loving son, @realevanross sings to me in Vegas; they are on their way to tour. Evan and Ashlee I DO •LOVE YOU” Ross captioned the clip.
Fans of the mother-son duo took over the comment section to gush about the clip, most of them gushing about Evan’s voice and comparing it to artists such as Michael Jackson and El DeBarge.
“I love Evan and Ashlee! Your son’s voice resembles yours and as I can see you are such a proud Mom! God bless you and your beautiful family,” wrote one lovely fan.
And another added:
“There’s nothing like the love between a Mother and Son.”
A FAMILY AFFAIR
Her children flanked Diana aboard a float on the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
Evan and Ashlee joined Diana’s other kids: Tracee Ellis Ross, Rhonda, Chudney and Ross Naess, all dressed in white for the holidays and enjoying the festivities with their respective kids, as Diana pretended to lip-sync without a microphone.
While another artist would have been bashed for doing such thing, Diana’s icon status gives her a free pass, and people all over social media loved what she did.
