Serena Williams' daughter Olympia melts hearts 'tending' her garden in adorable photo
Alexis Olympia is melting hearts all over social media in the most recent pic shared to her Instagram account. The 1-year-old girl is seen taking care of her garden, days after posing for her mother’s clothing line on an adorable photo shoot.
Olympia is already proving that, like her famous mom, she also has a versatility when it comes to her passions. The adorable tot enjoys being outdoors and playing around, but she can even stand in front of a camera and flash a smile to help her mother’s business.
“There are so many things I want to teach her about being a Black woman, and I’m proud that I have that opportunity.”
In the most recent pic shared to her Instagram account, which is run by mom Serena Williams and dad Alexis Ohanian, little Olympia is seen crouching down in front of a small garden and reaching her arm out to touch the plants. “Tending my garden,” said the caption.
Fans took over the comment section to gush about Olympia and the fact that she’s learning to grow some vegetables from such a young age. “Would order my vegetables from her,” wrote one user. Another added, “How wonderful!!! Olympia loves to eat good food, great to learn how to grow good food!!! Love you all!” and a third one said, “Atta girl. Look after our planet for your future.”
POSING FOR THE CAMERAS
But while Olympia loves all things nature-related, she also enjoys posing for the camera in a professional studio alongside her mom.
Serena took to Instagram to share an adorable pic of her daughter wearing a sweater from her collection, which she rocked more like a dress, to promote her Cyber Monday deals. In the pics, little Olympia looks happy as she shows off a big red sweater with an “S” printed on it, as her mom tries to fix the large sleeves for her.
“When you shop CYBER MONDAY at momma’s @serena warehouse. I know I can fit it soon. Go shop @serena- we ship worldwide,” Williams captioned the snap.
Olympia is learning from the best, but modeling and gardening are not the only things Serena wants to make sure her child learns.
LEARNING HOW TO BE A 'BLACK WOMAN'
Speaking to Essence in August, the 36-year-old tennis champion revealed that she and her husband are planning to teach Olympia about her African ancestors and roots. “There are so many things I want to teach her about being a Black woman, and I’m proud that I have that opportunity,” said Williams.
“I was just talking with my husband, Alexis. We were talking about how we want to take her to Africa and show her where she’s from and the strength that she gets from her ancestors. We want her to be able to build and thrive off that strength. And that’s only the beginning of what I want to teach her.”
Serena, a 23-times Grand Slam winner, known for her strong drive and personality, also wants to pass down her work ethic to Olympia. “I want her to also have a work ethic,” she stated, and continued:
“I want her to know that this is what her mommy did, and that’s what motivates me. I’m sure first-time moms will totally get it. When you have a baby, you just want to do everything you can for them.”
There’s no doubt Olympia will grow up with a variety of knowledge that will turn her into an amazing, well-rounded woman. Like mother, like daughter.
