Duchess Kate enjoys a private girls outing with daughter Charlotte at the 'Nutcracker' ballet

Duchess Kate Middleton left her sons and husband at home to take her daughter, Princess Charlotte, to a pre-rehearsal performance of “The Nutcracker” ballet at the Royal Opera House.

The Duke and Duchess’ first child is a confirmed dance enthusiast, therefore making a ballet performance the perfect treat for her.

“The Nutcracker” ballet is traditionally performed around Christmas time, and it was an appropriate start to the Royals’ holiday celebrations.

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS

The Duke and Duchess hosted military families at Kensington Palace for a Christmas party. Princess Charlotte was not present as she was at pre-school.

William’s view on her absence was jokingly communicated:

“because I can’t do this and look after the children!”

The royal couple has expressed that their children are excited for Christmas, which they have shown by putting up decorations and singing holiday songs.

EUGENIE’S WEDDING

Despite not being at the Christmas Party, the Duke and Duchess’ two eldest children were the centers of attention at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

Prince George was a pageboy, and Princess Charlotte was a bridesmaid in the wedding ceremony. The children were dressed as angels who made them look even cuter than usual.

Other children at the wedding included the Hubert de Givenchy’s great-great-nephew and Savannah Phillips, who is Princess Anne’s granddaughter.
