Former US First Lady Michelle Obama gave a piece of advice to Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and it made so much sense.

In her interview for the January issue of Good Housekeeping, Michelle, 54, said she could empathize with the "Suits" actress, 37.

“Like me, Meghan probably never dreamt that she’d have a life like this, and the pressure you feel – from yourself and from others – can sometimes feel like a lot,” she said. “So my biggest piece of advice would be to take some time and don’t be in a hurry to do anything.”

Meghan will soon become a mother like Michelle. She was recently photographed cradling her growing baby bump in pictures with Prince Harry at the beach.

DOMESTIC WORRIES

Michelle said she spent the first few months in the White House worrying about her daughters. She wanted to make sure they were off to a good start at school and making new friends before she launched into her “more ambitious work.”

She advised Meghan to continue pursuing advocacy that she is passionate about.

“What I’d say is that there’s so much opportunity to do good with a platform like that – and I think Meghan can maximize her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she’s doing something that resonates with her personally,” Michelle said.

Like Michelle, Meghan has been traveling the world sharing a message for the empowerment of women and girls.

Michelle, a lawyer and graduate of Harvard Law School, served as US First Lady from 2009 to 2017. She was the first African-American First Lady and became a fashion icon in the course of her stay at the White House.

MOTHER-TO-BE

Aside from women empowerment, Michelle worked as an advocate for poverty awareness, education, nutrition, physical activity and health eating.

Meghan will soon become a mother like Michelle. She was recently photographed cradling her growing baby bump in pictures with Prince Harry at the beach.

The Duchess of Sussex, who described pregnancy as “like having jetlag” is reportedly due this coming spring.
