Kelly Clarkson thanks ‘The Voice’ fans for changing Chevel’s life calling it a ‘blessing’
Kelly Clarkson expressed her gratitude to fans for her candidate's victory on "The Voice."
"The Voice" coach Kelly Clarkson reached out to fans through Twitter on December 18, 2018, to thank them for awarding Chevel Shepherd the victory for the 15th season of the NBC talent contest.
Sixteen-year-old Shepherd's victory was a surprise since she had been expected to finish in third place.
“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for my girl Chevel Shepherd, and for that matter for simply voting.”
A SURPRISE WIN FOR TEAM KELLY
The 15th Season's final kicked off with Blake Shelton mentoring two finalists, Kirk Jay, and Chris Kroeze; Jennifer Hudson with Kennedy Holmes; and Kelly Clarkson with Chevel Shepherd.
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine had no contestants in the finals after a controversial incident that saw Reagan Strange and DeAndre Nico eliminated.
Kelly Clarkson, who rose to stardom in 2002 after winning the television series "American Idol", will be back for Season 16 of "The Voice".
KELLY'S SECOND CONSECUTIVE VICTORY
The victory will be especially sweet for the country singer who won her first "The Voice" last year with Brynn Cartelli. Cartelli was only 15 at the time and became the youngest person ever to win the contest.
CHEVEL'S SONG WAS #1 ON ITUNES
The song Chevel recorded for the show, "Broken Hearts" hit #1 on iTunes following her performance on "The Voice" on December 17, 2018. "Broken Hearts" was a song that Kelly herself had intended to record, but ceded to her protegé and won her a resounding victory.
A CHANCE TO BECOME A STAR LIKE KELLY
Shepherd has won $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group and has an opportunity to launch her singing career.
Kelly Clarkson, who rose to stardom in 2002 after winning the television series "American Idol", will be back for Season 16 of "The Voice". It remains to be seen if she can fend off Shelton, Levine, and Hudson and pull off a hat-trick.
KELLY CLARKSON DOESN'T WANT HER CHILDREN TO BE SINGERS
Kelly Clarkson grew up dreaming of Nashville, and through her own hard work and determination - and a massive talent - made it as one of country music's greatest stars.
The 36-year-old mother of two confessed that as much as she loves her music and performing, she doesn't want her children following in her footsteps:
"I seriously hope they are tone deaf. I hope they are teachers or doctors or something … It's a hard industry."
Clarkson shares a son Remington 2, and a daughter River Rose, 4, with husband Brandon Blackstock.
Blackstock is in the music industry too. He is Blake Shelton's music manager, and his father was once married to country legend Reba McEntire.
With those influences and those genes, we can expect to see Remington and River Rose ruling a stage before too long.
