Diddy wishes happy birthday to his 'beautiful, strong and intelligent mother' in touching post
Sean “Diddy” Combs recently melted hearts on Instagram with a beautiful picture wishing his mother a Happy Birthday. Earlier this year, the music mogul honored Mrs. Janice Combs at VH1’s “Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Moms.”
P. Diddy’s year has been a whirlwind with the sudden death of his ex-wife and mother of three of his kids, Kim Porter. But the rapper is now back on his feet and working hard to keep his family afloat.
And because it’s always necessary to celebrate life, Diddy sent his beautiful mom a heartwarming birthday message on December 21 accompanied by a glamorous pic on Instagram. In the shot, Diddy and Janice walk hand in hand across the red carpet of VH1’s “Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Moms,” looking expensive and powerful.
Janice rocked a body-hugging white dress, with long sleeves and a cape, sparkly stockings and silver shoes, while Diddy donned a pale pink suit with a white t-shirt and sunglasses.
“Happy Birthday to my beautiful, strong and intelligent mother. Words can’t describe how much I love you. A LOT GOING ON THIS MONTH,” Diddy captioned the picture.
The rapper referred to a lot going on this month because Janice coincidentally shares her birthday with Diddy’s twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie, who turned 12-year-old. And earlier in December, Kim Porter would have celebrated her 48th birthday.
HONORING THE MATRIARCH OF THE COMBS FAMILY
Back in May, Combs joined many other celebrities to celebrate their moms at a special event hosted by VH1. When Diddy took the stage, he honored Janice by calling her a “superhero” and praised her for working four jobs as a single mom to raise him and his sister Keisha, as they grew up in Harlem.
He mentioned that his father was killed when he was 3-year-old, and despite the pain that Mrs. Janice must have felt back then, she did everything in her power to overcome it and take care of her kids.
“My mother to me was a superhero,” he said. And continued:
“She sacrificed everything to make sure that we were well taken care of and that we received the best possible education. And that we would always have the opportunity to go on and be great. She taught me to believe in myself and trust in my dreams. She instilled in me the importance of family and the power of love.”
THE COMBS KIDS TALK ABOUT THEIR GRANDMA
The 49-year-old rapper then continued on a video montage featuring his sons and daughters:
“When I look at my children I see my mother. I see the continuation of our legacy. She raised me to be her King from day one, and that’s how I raised my children to be kings and queens.”
As for the kids, the twins and their sister Chance agreed that their “MiMi” spoils them a lot, while Christian Combs mentioned that the best words to describe his grandmother is “funny, kind and she got a lot of swag.”
Diddy added that his mom taught him how to dance, dress, “be fly,” and have a work ethic. The proud son also revealed that Janice used to be a very strict mother as he was growing up, and that discipline has kept him in line through most of his adult life, as he always thinks of the “whooping” he would get if does something wrong.
A GRANDMA THAT KNOWS HOW TO HAVE FUN
The star also revealed that Janice seems to have gone soft with her grandchildren, and instead of being strict with them, she lets them do as they please.
Justin Combs recounted one situation in which he and his brother decided to throw a party on Diddy’s house because they thought no one was there, but then Janice came out of nowhere asking them to turn down the music.
However, the boys managed to calm their grandma, and she ended up joining the party too.
Janice is one of the most stylish grandmas’ in the entertainment industry, and she has nothing but love and support for her family, something that they reciprocate in each given opportunity.
