Tika Sumpter steals hearts with photo of growing daughter in coat & her curly hair in a bun

Tika Sumpter, the actress best known as Candace Young in “The Haves and the Have Nots,” took to Instagram to share a photo of her daughter, Ella-Loren showing her beautiful hair.

In the post, the girl was standing on what appeared to be a black carpet with a white design on it. Two-year-old Ella-Loren was wearing black pants and coat, and her face was not visible as she was looking down.

The only aspect that was evident, though, was how big the girl looked. Apart from that, her beautiful, curly hair also looked very adorable as it was done on a high bun. For the caption, the proud mother wrote, “Happy is her.”

PEOPLE’S REACTION

As soon as Tika uploaded that image, her followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

“Omg, seems like yesterday you were expecting her! Time flies!!” wrote one user.

“Wow! She’s beautiful already,” admitted a second follower.

“Getting so big,” added another one.

Even though Ella-Loren’s face was not shown, the image surprise most of Tika’s followers as she is very private when it comes to her of her daughter’s life. So much so that people only learned about her pregnancy after she was very close to her due date.

TIKA’S PRIVACY

The toddler was born on October 8, 2016, but Tika didn’t announce the birth until some weeks later. Soon before the birth, she revealed her reasons to keep most aspects of her pregnancy under the wraps.

“I didn’t want to hear, ‘Who’s the dad? Are you with the dad?’” she said. “Social media can be harsh, and I’m a mama bear, protective of my family. So that’s why I waited to tell people, including some friends.”

BACKLASH IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP

What Tika was probably trying to avoid was being attacked by some of her followers for her interracial relationship with actor Nick James, who also appears in “The Haves and the Have Nots” alongside Tika.

He proposed during Christmas 2016 and is the father of Ella-Loren. Unfortunately, Tika has got some backlash from people who felt somehow offended by their relationship. Thankfully, she has had interesting replies to most of the hurtful comments people make about it.

TIKA’S RESPONSE TO BACKLASH

During an interview the actress had with Madame Noire, she addressed some topics of her life, including the backlash that she has got for dating Nick. Responding to those comments, she said, “look within your own lives, maybe you’re just not happy, and I’m sorry about that.” Later, she threatened by saying, “don’t come after my dude like that. I’m a nice girl, but I’m gonna say something back, at least once [sic].”

At the moment, Tika is focused on being the best mother to Ella-Loren and on her career. So far, she is expected to appear in at least three projects in 2019: “An Acceptable Loss,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” and “The Nomads” wherein she also works as a producer.

Apart from those films, Tika will continue portraying Candace in “The Haves and the Have Nots.” Even though her relationship with Nick seems to be as loving as possible, they have not revealed anything about the wedding date yet.
