Jimmy Osmond, brother of Mary Osmond, suffered massive stroke during pantomime

Jimmy Osmond had a stroke while performing in the Peter Pan pantomime. He was rushed to hospital after the show.

Actor, Jimmy Osmond suffered a stroke on Thursday last week. He was starring as Captain Hook in the Peter Pan pantomime.

The 55-year-old entertainer had the stroke during his show and insisted on completing it. He was then rushed to hospital after the show which was held at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Thursday.

A spokesperson said he had completed the performance. The incredible actor even signed autographs for fans before being taken for treatment.

Osmond spent some time in the hospital. He is currently taking time out to recover and will not return to the production.

The brother of Mary Osmond is the "ultimate pro." His fans are rooting for his full recovery to be a speedy one.

A statement published on the venue's website read, "On the evening of Thursday December 27th after pushing through the evening's performance of Peter Pan at Birmingham Hippodrome, Jimmy Osmond was driven straight to hospital and diagnosed with a stroke. He is grateful for all the well wishes and will be taking time out in the new year."

His part is being covered by Osmond's understudy. Luke Redford and Darren Day took over the parts for the actor while he recovers.

Fans of the ill actor sent him many get-well-soon messages. Many also asked him to keep them updated on his progress and health.

"Jimmy loved being a part of the Hippodrome's well-renowned panto, and his portrayal of Captain Hook was both dastardly and heartwarming. He won the adoration not just of our audiences, but also of all our staff - we all send Jimmy and his family very best wishes for a speedy recovery." wrote one fan.

Osmond is the youngest member of the sibling musical group the Osmonds. The American family music group were most famous in the early-1970s
