The controversial Pastor John Gray and his wife are no strangers to making headlines. This time it's his wife, Aventer, who is in the spotlight after clips, shown below, of her defending their marriage amid infidelity rumors resurfaced.

In 2018, Pastor John Gray became known for his controversial sermons and stances. The first time he received backlash was in early January.

The pastor had told women they are unmarried because they “walk in the spirit of girlfriend.” Then he garnered criticism again after he revealed to TV One’s "Sister Circle" that his wife, Aventer, “endured more pain birthing him” than their children.

Now, recently resurfaced clips show the pastor alluding to his infidelity and adds to his controversial record. He is seen telling his church that the pair were at the brink of divorce earlier in the year because of his inadequacies as a husband and father.

Aventer takes over his testimonial, saying she “put scripture on that strange woman” who her husband was allegedly seeing. She went on to encourage wives to pray for their husbands.

“When you know what your position is, everything else is false. I know who I am. I am the rib God took from him. I’m his Rest In Brokeness. RIB. Rest in brokenness. Until he wakes up and understands who he is. You pray wife, as the devils run away. Amen? If you give up too soon, he wins,” said Aventer referring to the devil.

The Grays recently renewed their vows in an extravagant ceremony. During the ceremony, John gifted Aventer a brand new luxury car.

At the time fans speculated that something was amiss but there was no proof. With the recent revelations, speculators think these gestures were public apologies after reports that John may have cheated and fathered a love child.

John had presented his wife with a $200,000 Lamborghini Urus. Many fans had wondered how a pastor who lives off donations could afford the pricey vehicle speculating that there was “something else going on.”

The pastor and his wife did not take the criticism sitting down. John took to Facebook to make a statement saying, “I’m a husband first. Don’t confuse what I do with who I am. What I do is I pastor God’s people. Who I am is a husband and a father, and I’ll do anything to honor them." He also denied the claims that he spent funds intended for the church in the gift.

In a now deleted Instagram post, Aventer had defended her man saying “I don’t see anyone screaming about how basketball players drive what they do while you paying $$$ to see them play in arenas and on fields... We don’t live for people! We live for God! [sic]”
