Donald Trump and wife Melania share beautiful scenic pictures of snowy D.C.

On Sunday, President Donald Trump couldn’t help but be in awe of the White House covered in snow. He took to social media to share images of the phenomenon.

Even his wife, Melania Trump took to Instagram and Twitter with scenic photos of the snow-covered White House and the grounds.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter writing:

“Wish I could share with everyone the beauty and majesty of being in the White House and looking outside at the snow filled lawns and Rose Garden. Really is something - SPECIAL COUNTRY, SPECIAL PLACE!”

One image showed the ellipse and the national mall covered in the snow. Amid the snow, the Washington Monument could be seen in the distance.

Other pictures showed how the snow had covered the White House lawn and the West Wing. Instagram was also used to post a number of photos showing the effects of the snowfall.

On Saturday, a large snowstorm moved into the mid-Atlantic. Cities that were affected included Washington, DC, which had temperatures as low at -6°C.

So far, at least 9 people have passed away due to the storm. Snowfall has reached up to 10 inches on the nation's Capitol with many consequences to the country's flight schedule.

Over 785 flights had been canceled and 1,720 others were delayed on Sunday. About 45 flights have been grounded for Monday.

The US has reached over 20 days of a partial federal shutdown.
