Meghan Markle flaunts baby bump in purple dress & red coat while in Birkenhead with Prince Harry
Meghan Markle makes bold color choices as she steps out for her first official outing of the year with Prince Harry. She also reveals for the first time when their royal baby will be due.
Meghan Markle stood out dressed in red and purple during her first joint engagement with Prince Harry in 2019.
The royal couple who’s expecting their first child in the spring visited the town of Birkenhead, Merseyside where they met with various organizations that support groups within the community.
BRIGHT AND BOLD
Meghan was a breath of fresh air wearing an ensemble consisting of the bold colors red and purple. This is the first time she fashioned these hues together, trading her usually dark tones for a more cheerful vibe. She wore a purple Babaton by Artizia dress and complemented it with a red coat by Sentaler. At one point she tied her coat’s belt revealing the shape of her maturing baby bump. She cemented her look with red pumps courtesy of Stuart Weitzman.
EXPECTANT PARENTS MINGLE WITH THE CROWD
The couple stayed close to each other during their outing which included a walkabout and a visit to Hamilton Square where crowds gathered to honor them. Harry’s hand rested protectively on his wife’s back as they went along their duties.
While greeting people, the Duke of Sussex received a teddy bear, a gift for their unborn child. Meanwhile, Meghan acknowledged that he would be a “fantastic father” to one of the people she spoke to.
A SURPRISING BABY UPDATE
The pregnant royal also gave an update about their baby and revealed for the first time when it was due. She said they’re expecting the child towards the end of April or beginning of May. However, when a nine-year-old asked her if she knew if it was a boy or a girl, she said she didn’t know.
LOSING A MEMBER OF HER SECURITY
Meghan’s latest outing comes in the heels of news of her bodyguard quitting after six months of service. The unnamed female security who was appointed a key position is reportedly leaving the Met Police, prompting her to relinquish her duties with the Duchess.
Rumors also circulated that another reason she’s leaving is the Duchess herself. The pregnant royal is reportedly struggling with her independence while dealing with the constant presence of security.
This is the third member of Meghan’s staff who resigned in just a few months. A few weeks earlier, her personal assistant also left after six months of working for her. The woman who was tasked to teach Meghan the ways of a duchess also retired after working for 17 years for Queen Elizabeth. However, her resignation was already in the horizon even before she took on the temporary role of teaching Meghan.
