Alicia Keys' kids had epic reaction when she announced she's hosting the Grammy Awards in new video

Alicia Keys' announced she was hosting the Grammy Awards but the huge news was overshadowed by the epic reaction her kids had to the news. The amazing moment was caught on video, shown below.

Alicia Keys will be hosting the 2019 Grammy Awards. The singer made the announcement via a video on her YouTube channel.

In a video, she revealed that she is super excited to host the 61st annual Grammy Awards show this year. She went on to post a different video to Instagram of her children reacting to her announcement.

In the home-made nine-minute video on Youtube Keys is told over the phone that she’s hosting the awards show. She then tells friends, staff, her mother, husband Swizz Beatz, and her young children the good news.

In a separate video, posted to her Instagram, she shows her children's reaction. Alicia's two children, Egypt and Genesis stare blankly at their mum when she reveals the news to them.

Egypt eventually asks in a serious voice, "what's the Grammy's?" before calmly going back to playing. Alicia waits for a beat for them to be excited before exasperatedly walking away when she realizes they are unfazed.

"Egy and Gen want to know what the #GRAMMYS are ??" wrote the singer in her caption.

The post has over eight hundred and sixty thousand views after just thirteen hours of being uploaded. Fans were taken in by the adorable reaction of the kids and praised Alicia for how she handled it.

"Kids are SO real! Love it! I can tell you are a great mommy" wrote one fan.

Keys has won 15 Grammy Awards. Last April she was also honored at Variety‘s Power of Women event in New York for co-launching Keep a Child Alive, a nonprofit aimed at combating the physical, social and economic impacts of HIV.

At the end of last year, she had proved her kids always come first. She put her differences aside and spent time with her husband's ex-wife and his son.

Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys husband, took to Instagram to share a photo showing off his blended family. Fans were quick to praise the couple for putting their kids' needs first.
