Throughout last year, the couple had been trying out for another child. With no luck; they had decided to accept the possibility of remaining a family of four; if the year runs out and nothing happens. Fortunately, they got their wish.

“If it didn’t happen, it wasn’t meant to be — not part of God’s plan. We have one of each, but it got in there! It snuck in, towards the end, so a bit of a Christmas miracle.” - Lopez

When Mario was just a toddler, he got so sick; the doctors told his parents there was nothing more they could do for him. In his autobiography, Just Between Us, Lopez shared all he had to endure before getting to where he is now.

Speaking on the reaction of his kids after learning of the good news, the Saved By The Bell star reveals that son Dominic “Nico” Luciano, 5, and daughter Gia Francesca, 8, have firm opinions about their sibling-to-be.

“At first they were like, ‘Wait, what?’ They couldn’t understand. It took a second for it to register. My daughter got very dramatic. She was like, ‘If I have another brother, I’m telling you right now, I’m moving to Texas!’” - An excited Lopez revealed.

While Nico is rooting for a boy, Lopez and his wife are indifferent about the baby's sex, in fact, they will love to be surprised.

“We’ve waited for all the kids, [so] it’s going to be a surprise. We’re pretty old school, you know, it being the tie-breaker,” - Mario

All they hope for is to have a healthy baby; that's all that matters. Asked when his wife knew about the pregnancy, he teasingly replied:

"she was informed earlier to allay fears because she, didn’t want anyone thinking she was getting fat.”

The 45-year-old who underwent surgery for tearing his Achilles tendon last year; went ahead to shower praise on the mother of two as being “the quarterback of the team.” The baby will have an Italian first name to honor Courtney's heritage.
