Though XXXtentacion, (born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy) will no longer be able to exercise his role as a father to his newborn, the rapper reportedly handpicked his name. In a press statement from his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, and his girlfriend, it was revealed the name Gekyume “is derived from a word X created prior to his passing.” The word means “’a different state’ or ‘next’ universe of thought.”

“XXXtentacion specifically chose this name for his first-born son, his family is honored to fulfill his wish and shower baby Gekyume with love,” the statement adds.
