Sherri Shepherd hits the runway in off-the-shoulder red gown after 25-pound weight loss
Sherri Shepherd has lost a ton of weight since beginning the diet she often talks about, but much more than showing off her transformation on Instagram, the actress/comic is now doing so for a good cause.
Shepherd, 51, walked the runway last week in a red dress, flaunting her incredible over 25-pound weight loss.
Shepherd was putting her achievement on display for the American Heart Association’s annual “Go Red for Women” Red Dress Collection fashion show in New York City and she sure looked excited to be doing it.
"I was eating something I wasn’t supposed to. He said, ‘Mommy, if you die, who’s going to be my bodyguard?’"
Phaedra Parks, Skai Jackson, Jordyn Woods, and rapper Eve were other famous faces at the event alongside Shepherd.
In a video posted to her Instagram page, the former “The View” co-host sashayed down the runway in an off-the-shoulder red dress with a thigh-high side slit.
Shepherd accessorized her outfit with silver jewelry and matching strappy sandals. Her black hair was also styled in soft curls to one side of her shoulder.
“So honored to have “walked” the runway with @goredforwomen,” the “Precious” actress wrote in the caption. “And please support #hearthealth ... my sisters take a minute and make a commitment to your health,” she further advised.
If there’s anyone who knows about making a health commitment, it’s Shepherd. The mother-of-one commenced a strict no-sugar keto diet last March and has stuck to the regimen even when she found herself craving past food pleasures.
Last December, Shepherd took to Instagram to update fans on the effects of her diet. Alongside a mirror selfie of herself in a tank top, ripped skinny jeans, and thigh-high boots, she gushed:
“Getting it in!!! Over 260 days #sugarfree. …I’ve done this slowly and steadily and since March I’ve come down over 25lbs.”
The “Trial & Error” star also revealed that not only is she shedding weight, but she’s also enjoying a better quality of life.
“Can’t begin to describe how #amazing I feel. Energy, clarity of thought and mind. Focused, patient [with] my son. Hearing from God a lot more clearly. Present,” Shepherd shared.
The “Permission Slips” author, who was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2013, has credited her son, Jeffrey, for kick-starting the weight loss journey.
Shepherd said on “The Wendy Williams Show” last year:
"I was eating something I wasn’t supposed to. He said, ‘Mommy, if you die, who’s going to be my bodyguard?’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ He goes: ‘Who’s going to watch me?’ And literally I said, ‘Sherri, you’ve got to do something different.'”
Since then, Shepherd has been living her best life without sugar and was even confident enough to show off her curves in a swimsuit photoshoot last month.
