Fantasia's teen daughter is all grown up as she flaunts her long red hair in new photos

Zion Barrino inherited her mother’s beauty, and she’s flaunting it on her recent Instagram pics. The teenager had a makeover and is now sporting long red hair, and she looks fierce, just like Fantasia.

Fantasia Barrino’s eldest child is looking fierce in the latest pics posted to her Instagram. The 17-year-old recently deleted all the photos from her account, leaving only an old childhood pic next to her mom and uncle, and a video from August last year on her feed.

Zion went through an intense makeover and is now rocking long red hair, which enhances her beautiful skin color and factions.

“Let’s start over,” she captioned the first picture she posted with the hairstyle, wearing a knit black sweater with colorful details.

In another pic, Zion flaunted a black shirt with flames printed on it, which perfectly matched the girl’s hair. And in the third one, she stood in front of a mirror, wearing a shirt with “Los Angeles” written on it, and a denim skirt.

While Zion disabled the comment section in all of her pics, she has received almost 5k likes from her loyal followers.

It seems like the new hair is giving Zion new-found confidence, a quality that her famous mother exudes effortlessly.

But it wasn’t always that easy for Fantasia to embrace her appearance.

Once a skinny girl, Fantasia had a significant lack of self-esteem in her teenage years. She was bullied at school for her appearance, but she still wanted to fit in and get attention.

“When I was a teenager, all the other girls were getting attention, but I had this skinny little body with no shape,” she told Oprah a few years ago. “I thought, ‘Maybe if I show off some leg, the guys will look at me,’ so I tried to get attention with tight little dresses and miniskirts.”

After being raped and dropping out of school, Barrino moved out of her house and by the time she was 17, she got pregnant. People knew she was a talented girl, but after she had her daughter, people started to give up on her.

Barrino’s grandmother and mother also got pregnant at 17, so they were disappointed that Fantasia didn’t have a different life.

However, the singer proved them wrong against all the odds when she won the third season of “American Idol” and started a successful career in the entertainment industry that hat has led her to become one of the most iconic R&B singers of the past years.

Like Fantasia, Zion went through a phase where she wanted to look like someone else because of beauty standards.

“She wants to look a certain way—she wants hair or skin like somebody else at school. I say, ‘Zion, you're beautiful’ but when my mama tried to tell me that, I didn't want to hear it,” Barrino recalled.

It seems like Barrino’s encouragement has worked, and Zion looks ready to take social media by storm with her new look and mysterious personality.

Barrino is now married to Kendall Taylor, who she says adores her children. Zion’s younger brother is Dallas Xavier. He was born in 2011.
