Marla Gibbs Has an Adult Grandson and Teen Great-Granddaughter Who Look a Lot like Her

Marla Gibbs has been in the entertainment industry for over 40 years, and her career is still going strong at 87. The actress and producer is also the proud matriarch of her family and now has a teen great-granddaughter as beautiful as her.

Marla Gibbs is often remembered for her role as George Jefferson's maid, Florence Johnston, in the ‘70s sitcom, “The Jeffersons.” She earned five Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nomination for the role, and that was just the start of her career.

Later, she would star and executive produce on the series “227,” which was adapted for television from an original screenplay created by her daughter, Angela Gibbs.

Angela inherited her mother’s talent, and both women are considered triple threats in the industry: they can act, direct, produce, and more. They recently worked together on the film “Love Jacked,” a collaboration that was a long time in the making.

And although both women are busy with their careers, they also have a beautiful family to take care of.

Aside from Angela, Marla has two other children, sons Dorian and Joseph Gibbs, all from her marriage to Jordan Gibbs.

On the other hand, Angela also has one son, King Amil, and he made her a by fathering two kids: son Sam, 20, and daughter Aila, who’s in her teenage years.

The proud dad recently gushed about Aila’s singing skills, sharing a throwback video on Instagram of the girl singing to Alicia Keys’ “If Ain’t Got You” in front of her class. The girl seems to carry the passion for the arts in her DNA but is not clear if she’s pursuing a career in Hollywood in the future to follow her grandma and great-grandma's steps.

What is clear is that Marla loves to spend time with her adorable family. On Valentine’s Day, the veteran actress shared a picture on Instagram from her celebration at a restaurant alongside Angela, Amil, and Aila. She captioned the post:

“Happy Valentine’s Day!! My sweet Valentine is my grandson @amilgibbs He took out me, my daughter @angelaegibbs and my great granddaughter @aila_elle With Love from my family to yours.”

Fans took over the comment section to gush about the photo and praise the Gibbs family.

“So basically this is four generations in this pic? Wow We will forever love you, Marla,” wrote one fan. And another added,

“Marla, Happy Valentines Day to you and your loved ones, your still amazing to watch.”

Gibbs will celebrate her 88th birthday in June, but she’s still working like there’s no tomorrow. She recently appeared on an episode of CBS’s “The Neighborhood,” and she’s set to appear on the upcoming film “She Ball,” directed by Nick Cannon.
