It’s been over four months since Angela lost the father of her child tragically and the reality star/shoe designer has been trying her best to raise their son, Sutton “SJ” Joseph.

SJ already has quite the fan following thanks to his constant appearances on mom’s social media platforms, and in recent photos, Angela showed how they’re getting along in Sutton’s absence.

The “Growing Up Hip Hop” star shared pictures of SJ’s haircut to Instagram, including a “before” version of his massive curls and an “after” that is even more adorable.

Rocking a Cookie Monster shirt beneath a denim jacket and a gold necklace, SJ posed for the camera in multiple pics as he showed off the new cut.

SHORT-LIVED ROMANCE

Angela and the late Sutton were engaged in 2016, the same year they welcomed their son. By late 2017, however, the daughter of Run-DMC’s Rev. Run announced on Instagram that they had split. She implied having to eventually walk away after trying to save a relationship that had become toxic.

NEW DETAILS ABOUT THE TRAGEDY

Sutton was found lifeless inside an open garage at his Atlanta home on November 3, 2018. He was 37. Police investigations revealed that the deceased had gotten into an argument with another man.

The argument escalated and resulted in the other man, identified as Michael Williams, shooting Sutton. Michael fled the scene of the crime in a car but would later turn himself in to local police. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and murder.

New details about Sutton’s death reveal that he was shot 13 times in his chest, stomach, legs, and arms. Per TMZ, the Fulton County Medical Examiner added that three of those shots pierced several chambers of Sutton’s heart, causing considerable damage.

“I’M HURTING. I’M NUMB”

In her initial reaction to news of Sutton’s death, Angela flooded social media with throwback photos and videos and penned heartbreaking tributes to the father of her child.

“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift. I’m hurting. I’m numb,” she confessed in one caption. “Thank you for the outpouring of love everyone. I can’t believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

Fortunately, Angela has her family’s help to rely on in keeping that promise. Her baby brother, JoJo, is stepping up to the plate as an influential male figure in SJ’s life.

Last November, JoJo shared pictures from their boys’ day out to the barbershop and revealed plans to make it a two-week ritual. Shortly after Sutton’s death, JoJo had taken to social media with a solemn promise while also revealing Sutton’s last words to him.

“Nobody deserves death. I just remembered your last words you said to me when I saw you last ‘Hold it down bruh.’”

“I didn’t know I would have to hold it down this way,” he added. “God works in crazy ways, but I’m here to be the man for your son to look up to and call whenever he needs me!”

Apparently, when Angela said her son was in “great hands,” she knew exactly what she meant.
