Special Moment: Princess Beatrice Makes Her First Official Appearance with Boyfriend, Edoardo

Princess Beatrice arrived at the gala in London with none other than her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi by her side for their first public appearance together as a couple.

The 30-year-old princess arrived at London’s National Portrait Gallery dressed in a flowing red velvet dress with black tights and heels, while Edoardo sported a classic tuxedo suit.

Although there was no PDA between the two during the posh gala on March 12, it was hard to miss the blossoming romance between the couple.

Rumors of their involvement began in September last year. Apparently, the pair have the same circle of friends and got set up by a mutual friend. They hit it off instantly, and their relationship grew from there.

Princess Beatrice’s parents and her property developer boyfriend’s family had been friends for many years.

Edoardo’s stepfather, Christopher Shale was a dear friend of former PM David Cameron, with whom Beatrice’s family is close friends. After he tragically died at the Glastonbury festival in 2011, they all attended Christopher’s funeral.

It wasn’t until November last year that Edoardo's involvement with Princess Beatrice became more than rumors when she introduced him as her boyfriend to friends at a party.

Suggestive that their relationship could be getting serious, it is said that Edoardo already met her royal parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah.

The 34-year-old Italian property developer nicknamed Edo unofficially made his debut alongside Beatrice in December 2018 at the Third Annual Berggruen Prize Gala in New York. The pair were not pictured together, but it confirmed dating rumors at the time.

Before Beatrice got into a relationship with Edoardo, the princess remained single for almost two years following her split from Dave Clark in 2016 whom she dated for ten years.

Edoardo founded his company Banda Property in 2007 which boasts with the creation of “exceptional homes.” The 34-year-old’s relationship with his former fiance, Chinese-American architect, Dara Huang ended early in 2018, and they share a gorgeous two-year-old son, Christopher.

Edo and Beatrice spent New Year’s together on an idyllic island of the coast of Kenya where his family owns a home in Lamu. Rumors already abound that the couple’s relationship is progressing quickly and that a marriage proposal could follow soon.

While living in the public eye makes for little privacy, especially if you are a member of the royal family, there is a touching story of Princess Beatrice rarely told.
